This Apartment in Mumbai is a bright, airy house where natural light pours in abundance. The homeowners wanted joyful, uplifting pops of colour, but not something that made a bold statement. The challenge was to bring in brightness and showcase their personalities while keeping the space calm and easy on the eyes.

The design strategy devised by House of Design achieves exactly that. Softer shades form the base, while carefully placed deeper tones create accents and focal points through selective panelling and feature walls. This contrast adds just the right amount of depth without taking away from the openness of the home.

To ensure the palette stood out, the furniture across the home is kept intentionally understated. The muted furnishings allow the wall colours, ceilings, and wooden panelling details to take centre stage, creating a beautifully balanced visual experience.

At the heart of the living and dining zone sits a thoughtfully placed pooja space designed to be expandable and integrated seamlessly into the layout. Its central placement brings both function and serenity, anchoring the space without disrupting the flow. The ceilings across the home also play a subtle role in enhancing the aesthetic, adding dimension without overpowering the rooms.

In the compact bedroom, design choices were made to maximise impact without crowding the space. The palette stays clean with whites and ivories, elevated by black high points that adds definition.

One of the most unique features of the home is a custom d-esigned 3D artwork in one of the bedrooms created by an artist, based on the client’s idea of having art connected to the universe. The result is a stunning 3D moon installation, set against a burnt orange backdrop. This combination instantly becomes the focal point of the room - -subtle, symbolic, and emotionally grounded.

Designed by House of Design, every element in this Mumbai home reflects an intentional design decision that has resulted in shaping a home that feels balanced and truly personal. Be it the carefully chosen shades that brighten the space without overwhelming it, or the smart details woven into the layout, and the custom touches that add personality. It’s a space where every shade, texture, and feature work together to create effortless harmony.
