Your bedroom is your sanctuary - a place to rest and rejuvenate. Choosing the right bedroom colours based on Vastu principles can significantly impact your well-being. The right shades promote peace, positivity, and balance, while the wrong choices may lead to disharmony. Let’s explore how you can select Vastu-compliant colours to make your bedroom your sacred haven.
Understanding the Role of Vastu Colours for Bedroom Harmony
Colours impact us more deeply than we think. According to Vastu, certain colours can calm the mind, soothe the soul, and create an ambience of positivity. For instance, when you choose a colour for the bedroom, as per Vastu, you're inviting specific energies into your life. This will also improve relationships and foster a stress-free environment.
Top 5 Vastu Colours for Bedroom Walls
Different colours influence the energy of a room. Here are some Vastu-approved shades for your bedroom and their impact:
1. Blue
A symbol of calmness, blue is ideal for bedrooms in the north and west directions as it promotes tranquillity and relaxation. Lighter shades help reduce stress, making them suitable for people with restless minds. It also helps improve concentration levels and productivity. When following bedroom Vastu, shades of blue, such as soft blue or muted aqua, can create a soothing and peaceful ambience.
Our Recommendation: Choose shades like Eternally Elegant (BB 5073) or Zanskar Ice (BB 5105) from our wide range of blue colour catalogues.
2. Green
Representing nature, growth, and renewal, green is well-suited for north and east-facing bedrooms. These directions relate to health and knowledge, making green an excellent choice for fostering calmness and healing. It is one of the most recommended bedroom wall colours as per Vastu, due to its ability to create a fresh and positive atmosphere. Light or pastel greens are suitable, as they evoke a feeling of freshness and promote a peaceful and restful environment.
Our Recommendation: Nature-inspired hues like Pastel Green (BG 6121), Iced Melon (BG 6177), or Soothing Sage (GG 7026) bring a breath of fresh air to your bedroom.
3. Yellow
Yellow radiates warmth and positivity, making it ideal for bedrooms facing the northeast or east. It is ideal for bedrooms where optimism and creativity are encouraged. It creates a welcoming and cheerful atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for the walls of your bedroom in Vastu.
Our Recommendation: Create a sunny vibe with our shades like Sun’s Out (YY 1020), Lemon and Spoon (YY 1019), Hopper Painting (YY 1036).
4. Pink
Pink, the colour of love and compassion, is particularly recommended for south and southwest-facing bedrooms. It is ideal for married couples as it strengthens emotional bonds. Pink also creates great positive feelings and evokes harmony and romance. This shade also calms the mind and is very helpful in reducing violent behaviour. Softer pink shades create a gentle and soothing atmosphere.
Our Recommendation: Delicate shades like Plush Pink (RR 3122) and Prehistoric Pink (RR 3105) can create a loving and warm atmosphere in your bedroom.
5. White
White symbolises purity and simplicity, making it a perfect choice for northwest and east-facing bedrooms. It is perfect for creating a serene and spacious atmosphere in bedrooms, making the space feel airy and peaceful. It also helps in inner cleansing and purification of emotions. Warmer off-white shades like ivory add softness, while bright whites maintain a crisp and refreshing aura.
Our Recommendation: White can make your bedroom feel more spacious. Choose from our wide range of catalogues like the shade River Rapids (WW 0001) or Soft Bhel (WW 0019).
Common Mistakes to Avoid When Choosing Bedroom Colours According to Vastu
Selecting the right bedroom colour, according to Vastu, requires careful consideration. Here are some common mistakes to avoid:
Using Dark and Overwhelming Colours:
Excessive use of dark shades like black or deep red can create a heavy atmosphere, leading to restlessness and stress. It is best to balance them with lighter tones.
Ignoring the Room’s Direction:
Vastu suggests different colours based on the bedroom’s direction. For example, a north-facing bedroom benefits from shades of green and blue, while an east-facing bedroom is best suited for white and light yellow
Overuse of Bold Colours:
While vibrant colours add personality, too much intensity can be overwhelming. Bright shades like orange or magenta should be used as accents rather than dominant wall colours
Mismatched Colour Combinations:
Mixing incompatible colours can disrupt the room’s harmony. It is advisable to choose complementary hues that blend well together
Not Considering the Purpose of the Room:
The bedroom is meant for rest, so selecting overly stimulating colours like neon shades can interfere with sleep quality
Ignoring Personal Preferences:
While Vastu principles are important, personal comfort should not be overlooked. Choosing a colour that resonates with you ensures a relaxing environment
